چکیده

AIM: The aim of this work is to investigate the clinical value gelsolin plasma concentration in diagnosis sepsis and relationship between severity organ dysfunction assessed by acute physiology chronic health evaluation (APACHE II) SOFA scores, study mortality predictive power concentration.
METHODS: We analyzed data patients admitted with (n = 46) for 5 days. Age- sex-matched non-specific intensive care unit (ICU) 18) served as controls. Septic were then divided according disease sepsis, severe septic shock. Besides (pGSN) classical laboratory parameters scores II SOFA) also assessed.
RESULTS: showed significantly decreased 1st-day GSN levels (170.9 ± 74.3 mg/l) compared non-septic critically ill (225.9 84.5 mg/l, p < 0.05). Furthermore, shock had lower than (p 0.05); furthermore, non-survivors survivors higher APACHE scores. Lower level was correlated development multiple syndrome fatal outcome, also, longer ICU stay, II, score has shown best ability predict AUC 0.913 followed PCT 0.828. pGSN least only 0.378 despite significant difference survivals non-survivals.
CONCLUSIONS: might serve efficient complementary marker sepsis. However, prognostic role requires further investigation larger studies.

Prognostic Value of Plasma N-Terminal Pro-Brain Natriuretic Peptide in Patients With Severe Sepsis

Background—Increased plasma levels of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) have been identified as predictors of cardiac dysfunction and prognosis in congestive heart failure and ischemic heart disease. In severe sepsis patients, however, no information is available yet about the prognostic value of natriuretic peptides. Therefore, the aim of the present study wa...
